Charanjit Bhullar, awarded with Jagjit Singh Anand Memorial Award for Commendable Contribution in Journalism 2022, has been raising social, economic and especially farmers' issues with his pro-people writings in Punjabi journalism for the past 25 years.

Born in 1970 at village Mandi Kalan, Bathinda, Charanjit Bhullar, after acquiring his higher education in Political Science, Sociology and Journalism, started his journalistic  journey  in 1997 with the newspaper 'Desh Sevak'. Later, after a stint in 'Ajit', he has  been working  as a staff reporter in 'Punjabi Tribune' ever since.

Charanjit Bhullar has been collecting and collating data under the Right to Information Act for the past 12 years and through his writings based on those findings, he has made a notable contribution in the field of investigative and literary journalism. His columns 'Khulli Khirki’ and 'Vichli Gall' were regularly published in 'Punjabi Tribune' for years. Charanjit Bhullar's works also include two books of Punjabi prose, 'Punjab and Sons' and 'Khulli Khirki’.

He has been honored with many awards. Out of  those, notable are  ‘Punjabi Shromini Patarkar’ (2021) award by the Punjab government, Punjab Lok Sabhyacharak Manch ‘Punjabi Patarkari/Journalism’ award, 'Colonel Narain Singh Bhathal Literary Award' (2016) by the institution 'Kalakar', ‘Punjabi Journalism Award' by Punjabi Sath Lambra, 'Harbhajan Halwarvi Memorial Journalism Award' (2020) by Adabi Daira Mullanpur, Ludhiana, and 'Special Award for Punjabi Journalism' by Kiranjit Qatal Kand Virodhi Action Committee, Mahal Kalan.
